About Borough Creative
Strategic Communications for Health, Life Sciences, and Social Impact
Hi, I’m Erin Shea, Health & Social Impact Consultant, Founder of Borough Creative
I help mission-driven organizations communicate with clarity and purpose, translating complex ideas into stories that inspire action and drive measurable impact. With nearly 20 years of experience in global health and social impact, I’ve led communications, knowledge management, and advocacy efforts that strengthen visibility, credibility, and engagement. My work has taken me from rural health posts and refugee camps to large national hospitals, collaborating with teams across more than 15 countries to tell stories that connect evidence to people and purpose.
Why I started Borough Creative
In 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer just four months into the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the disruptions to the U.S. healthcare system, I was lucky to access world-class care, but the experience deepened my understanding of the disparities that define global health. Through Borough Creative, I blend that perspective together with my professional background to help organizations craft impactful communications and advocacy moments that advance health equity and help improve lives.
